That week went quick. Roll on Southampton game

September 8, 2012

Hi Gooners it’s going to be hot one. Garden and barbecue on the cards.

A week of after the Lord Mayor’s show.

After a very good win against Liverpool, the international break interrupts things. I was thinking, (yes it hurts) maybe Liverpool should take that sign down as you enter the tunnel area “This Is Anfield” It doesn’t scare anyone, any more.

After beating Liverpool, Mancyspew beat Southampton 3-2 at St Mary’s. A certain Mr Robin van Persie scoring all three.

During the game when the score was 2-1 to Southampton, United got a penalty, RVP took it, tried one of his chipped penalty shots and the keeper saved well. Twitter and Arsenal forums went into overdrive and not friendly either. Then RVP only went and scored two more and sadly it did not end up one of those Sundays Carling would do, save Arsenal of course won.

Good news this week was that Jack is back playing with a football with a mid-October return on the cards. Some say it could be the end of September, but I reckon a few more weeks to be safe side. I really hope Jack makes it this time with no setbacks. Jack looked  every inch a class act before his injury/setbacks and with Diaby also looking good this time, I think it really would be like two new signings.

There was I thinking the transfers rumours would desist now the transfer window had closed and the ITK’s would fade away till mid-December.  The journalists would get back to writing about the football. Oh well I was wrong… Football transfer rumours are a sort of Paddy gets up and he does it again sort of thing. The transfer windows have created a monster.

Alex Oxo-Chamberlain is apparently wants to be/will be offered a new improved contract. It’s amazing in football how a good game or two gets you a better contract. Not a couple of years of consistency, oh no!!!  If this were true in my line of work, I would not be getting out of bed for less than £200k a week after 23 years at same firm.

Francis Coquelin is looking to take his chance at Arsenal, however, sitting on Nasri’s favourite chair is not one of his options. Early days in this one, but it’s a rumour and they have to be given some credence. 🙂 Got sent off last night playing for French under 21’s.

This Is the best of the best. Apparently Cesc Fabregas is unhappy at Barca. Put 2+2 together and you get 5 in the football transfer news world. Cesc could be on his way back to Arsenal. Seriously who makes this stuff up? Arsenal are going to let Arshavin walk on a free. As issydink the Jewish bloke from Stamford Hill once said. “Issydink, what do you think, give him away for nothing?” Schmucks!! This is Arsenal we’re talking about.

Bacary Sagna says he is upset at Arsenal letting RVP and Song leave. So the obvious conclusion would be he now wants out. Two broken legs, still on sidelines and he wants out!… Nothing like a good story. Tip!!! Arsenal supporters… When players contracts run down it is not always the fault of the club. It could be just that the player or agent are keeping their options open.

Weds and Mr Hill-Wood speaks… I have covered this here.

International Football…

Diaby scores for France in their 1-0 win over Finland here. Looking every inch a Patrick Vieira clone… Diaby also plays 90 mins injury free. Great news!!! Which takes me back to this goal… A short tribute I found to Diaby here… The music is Radical face – Welcome home. One would have to question all those that would have seen him leave. What was it they called him, DEADWOOD?

Cazorla scores and assists the second as he start starts for Spain in the 5-0 win over Saudi Arabia. here. This little magician really is the business and boy can he play. Well played Arsene Wenger for signing him up. He is going to get a shed load of assists and I could be so bold as to say at least 10 goals.

TV5, BFG, even Djourou all keep clean sheets for Belgium, Germany and Switzerland. Are they forgetting what it is like to concede?

Both Oxo-Chamberlain and Theo had assists in England’s 5-0 win over Moldova though would have found it harder if the were playing Dover. Theo coming on for Oxo. has Theo been relegated behind Oxo for both Arsenal and England?

Finally : The name of the game is Patience and an understanding that whatever a football supporter might think of their team/club you cannot always win. That’s the nature and the beauty of the game of football. However, sometimes if you do not win for a while, should that be a run of games or years without a trophy, the feeling you get when you finally do win is magnified and fantastic.

Please fell free to make comments on what I write, good or bad.

Cheers
