Morning Gooners…

Also happy Diamond Jubilee to Her Maj “The Queen”

Robin van Persie has been voted Arsenal.com player of the season with a massivo 77.7% of the votes counted.

The Top five

A pretty fair top five and save maybe Wojciech Szczesny I reckon most people’s top five, though maybe not in that order.

The Euro’s are almost upon us and we currently have taking part :

  • Lukasz Fabianski played the full game in Poland’s 1-0 win against Latvia, making a string of saves in an impressive display. Latest is that LF has withdrawn from the squad and Euro’s due to injury.
  • Thomas Vermaelen did not play in Belgium’s 2-2 draw against Montenegro. Though it is expected that he will play against England at Wembley
  • Theo Walcott played 44 minutes as a second-half substitute in England’s 1-0 win in Norway.
  • Wojciech Szczesny played the whole of Poland’s 1-0 victory over Slovakia.
  • Nicklas  Bendtner played the whole match in Denmark’s 3-1 defeat to Brazil  in Hamburg on Saturday, scoring Denmark’s goal
  • Oxo made his England debut in the England’s  1-0 win over Norway in Oslo on Saturday, coming on a second half sub. Talk is he will start against Belgium.
  • Tomas Rosicky did not play in Czech Republic’s 2-1 defeat to Hungary , after also sitting out his side’s victory over  Israel due to injury
  • Johan Djourou played the whole game in Switzerland’s 1-0 defeat at home to Romania. He also played as an injury-time sub in Switzerland’s 5-3 victory over Germany on Saturday. Sounds about right.
  • RVP played 67 mins of Holland’s 2-0 win over Slovakia. He also played the whole game in their disappointing 2-1  defeat to Bulgaria, though he did score.
  • Per  Mertesacker played the whole game as Germany won 2-0 against Israel. He made his return from injury in Germany’s 5-3  defeat to Switzerland.
  • Lukas Podolski who is set  to join us next season, played 66 minutes against Israel after featuring for 61 minutes against the Swiss.
  • Laurent Koscielny got his second cap, playing the full game in France’s 2-0 victory over Serbia.
  • Andrey Arshavin played the whole game in Russia’s 3-0 victory over Italy and played well. Looked slimmer and like he cared.  He also played the whole of Russia’s goalless draw against  Lithuania.

Not much in the way of transfers apart from the one signing so far of Podolski. Still awaiting news of those players I would describe as not needed and hopefully will be transferred out of the club this summer, in some ways as important as those that come in. Bendtner, Squillachi, Fabisanki, Djourou, Park, Denilson. I was hoping Vela might stay, but it looks like he wants out. RVP transfer news is till kept going as today we have Mancini saying he is ready to pounce if he does not sort his contact out at Arsenal.

Plenty of names being bounded about as to who we are linked with, but just your usual summer rumours, many of which as so made up.

Season tickets for next year have all been paid for. I see a lot of people are putting theirs up for loan or to share. Is this a sign of the times or the current economic situation??  There was a time matches were played at 3pm on Saturday. Saturday was football day. You went football, her indoors went shopping, all planned out. Today football is played any day and time of time of the week and fixtures are prone to be moved about. This means that even with the best will in the world, there are going to be times where you can’t make the games. Thing is it is not cheap to just not attend and you have to get rid of tickets and this is not always possible. That’s football today. We’re customers not supporters to the club.

This week once Coldplay have left the building, I will be going over the Emirates for a tour of the stadium (been before) this time taking in the museum next Friday. Will also sort out new home kit shirts for my Son and I while there.

Alisher Usmanov has been spending money… One of his latest toys below…

The current board must be bonkers… Have this guy on the board with you and I reckon you know where your going to be spending some of your holidays each year, in top, top style.

Usmanov has also brought one of these as well.

I reckon the team could be flying to away matches in style as well. Come on Arsenal, this guy I reckon would pay off the stadium debt if you let him on board. Maybe even stump a few hundred million for players. Get him on the board.

Cheers for reading
