Arsenal News 15 April 2012

April 15, 2012

Morning Gooners.

What with Arsenal not playing till Monday night and two very big FA CUP semi-final local derbies going on as you can imagine not much Arsenal news about.

What there is:

Tomas Rosicky talks about Arsenal’s connection with the fans this season. On my visits to the Emirates this season it feels like the fans have thrown off the inhibitions and at last are feeling as one. When the move across from Highbury to Emirates was made many fans were split up, just as they were Highbury became all seater. I think it’s down to a combination of fans sitting near each other and getting know each other and also the team showing passion and fight for the club that has also been missing for a number of years. Long may it continue as recent trips to the Emirates have been a joy.

However on the downside Tomas has got the shoot the mouth off syndrome that has affected other players such as S13, Theo and the brilliant Johan Djourou, by talking a good game, though at least TR7 has been walking a good game as well. I wish players would just play and let their feet do the talking.

Arsene has come out and mentioned that young Jack Wilshere will not make the European Champions. What would be the point? He has not played all season, so why rush him back. Let him recover slowly. I know it’s a cliché but he will be like a new signing next season. Better for Arsenal and England.

Interesting look at Mr. Santos and “How bad a defender is Andre Santos” Here Page 1 and here Page 2 it’s down to you to make you mind up.  Remember no likely, no lighty.

Myles Palmer. What is it with this guy? Who at Arsenal upset him? Did Arsene refuse him another interview to update his “The professor” book? Who cares? I say big up to the little sixtysomething bloke who hit him three times, just a shame he did not aim higher. Then what the hell is he going on about in this article “What the Man City game tells us” It seems he cannot bring himself to give any praise whatsoever. Another of those fans that has dug his hole and now cannot get out of it.

Yesterday was the first half of the Local FA Cup Semi-Finals Everton v Liverpool. Wembley packed to the rafters with 70k Scousers and 17k liggers.

It seemed most the nation were looking for Everton to bag this one. 25 mins into the match Agger and Carragher did their best Squillachi/Djourou impression and combined to set up Jelavic to slot the ball into the net for 1-0 Everton. On 62 and seemingly in control Squillachi again (sorry Distin) made  a terrible error with a pass back to the keeper, where the ball fell short to short arse Suarez, who, to be fair took it well and slotted it nicely past Howard in the Everton goal for 1-1. Andy Carroll was playing like he could not hit a cow’s arse with a banjo. Then Liverpool are given a free kick when Coleman fouls Stevie me. Craig Bellamy waits for the ref to turn round, cheekily moves the ball and sends in a cross and finally there is Donkey Carroll to head Liverpool in front 2-1 and right at the end. Maxi should have made it 3-1. However, it’s Liverpool into their 2nd final of the season.

Today it’s Spuds v Chelsea, where nothing save a major 22 man brawl, 6 players sent off and both teams thrown out of the Cup and replaced by Arsenal will suffice :-).

In the league Man City’s Argentine connection invaded Norwich and ran out 6-1 winners with Tevez bagging a hat-trick. City are now just 2 points behind leaders United. Is the title still up for grabs? Norwich are the team that beat Spuds 2-1 at Shite Hart Lane last week ha! ha!… While we beat City 1-0.

Are you watching Tott-en-ham… Are you watching Tott-en-ham..

Cheers for reading and have a great Sunday.
