It’s back! Arsenal News 8 April 2012

April 8, 2012

Morning Gooners. Been away for the best part of week…

A very grey day outside in Harlow, but perfect weather for the journey ahead to “The Emirates” with Son to watch Arsenal take on Manchester City…

Not much has happened on the Arsenal front since the defeat to QPR last week. No new injuries to report for today’s game. Same old, same old, Wilshere, Diaby and the BFG are still keeping the medical staff at Colney company.

Chelsea booked their place in the Champions League Semi-Final against BarcaMessi and have to play Arsenal in between the two high-profile matches.

Spuds Beat Swansea 3-1 and drew 0-0 away at Sunderland to open up a one point gap over us, yet Arsenal now have a game in hand. Newcastle beat Liverpool and Swansea to go sixth in table. Chelsea beat Villa and Wigan.

So as of today the table 3rd/6th looks like this:

  • Spuds P32 GD20 Pts 59
  • Arsenal P31 GD21 Pts 58
  • Chelsea P32 GD18 Pts 56
  • Newcastle P32 GD6 Pts 56

Lot’s of twists and turns ahead then for the last six/seven games. Spurs and Chelsea play each other in the FA Cup Semi Final at Wembley, one will have to play a Cup Final as well. As mentioned Chelsea also have to play a two leg affair with the no-hopers from Barcelona and have to play Newcastle where one side must drop points. Arsenal have two tough matches at home to City and Chelsea and our dodgy team Stoke RFC.

Looks like a very exciting finish to the season and better than just a dead rubber set of matches.

Today’s game is Massive and one we need to win, just as City do otherwise a defeat for either side could be catastrophic . City return with Platt, Vieira, The Toure brothers, Clichy, Nasri and I reckon they could be in for stick (save PV4) if they are not warming the bench. The crowd need to be up for this one and right behind the team from the off. Maybe an early and nice convincing win for United at home to QPR will knock the stuffing out of City.

After an up and down start to the season and the new year we have stayed in touch and have a great chance of Champions League football next season, hopefully coming 3rd in table to automatically qualify. Not a trophy by any means but better than nothing.

I see Johan Djourou is at it again, “we can beat City” shut up mate, and for once let your feet and not Gob do the talking.

Hopefully S13, Sagna. Gibbs/Santos Kos, TV5, Song, Arteta, Rosicky, Walcott, RVP and Oxo/Gervinho as the starting eleven today.

Anyway back later with match report.
