Arsenal News 17 March 2012

March 17, 2012

Morning Gooners… Bloody cold here today and early start for Sons football at 10am. Big game today top four clash. So it’s a Tesco’s full English shortly.

Champions League and Chelsea drawn to play Benfica which gives them a run of games

  • 21 March Man City (a)
  • 24 Match Spurs (h)
  • 27 March Benfica (a)
  • 31 March Villa (a)
  • 4 April Benfica (h)

Should Chelsea get through v Benfica then they will play Barca or Milan either side of playing Arsenal on the 21 April 2012. Some people say the win v Napoli might Chelsea’s confidence a lot of good. I say they are not going to come out of 10 games in 5 weeks, four of them could be Champions League matches winning them all.  Also if they beat Leicester another FA Cup match will be thrown in. Anything that gives Arsenal an advantage is alright by me. No Roman wants that Champions League Trophy and when Chelsea get to the checkout the only thing in their basket will be a bit of paper saying Go for the Champions League.

FA Cup weekend also give Arsenal a much-needed break to recharge and hopefully help on the injury front. Bolton take on Spurs at Shite Hart Lane and our new wonder kid Ryo Miyaichi gets the chance to knock the Spuds out of the cup and add another Arsenal knife into Spurs backs.

You have to love the Daily Mail’s Sports pages where they have Spurs saying Name you price Jose to take over at Spurs and ‘Arry Redknob telling Mr. Levy to break the bank for Hazard Where are Spurs getting all this money from and building a new £400m stadium. Of course it’s a club managed by the world’s best accountant Mr.Redknapp who has a history of making sure club are financially viable. In the article ‘Arry talks bout S13 and that he has a lot to say, yeah! Right ‘Arry, like you don’t or your players.

Finally I had a look back at this article by Amy Lawrence in the Guardian made on 26th February just before the 5pur2 match.  What you need to look at is the comments at the end of page 4 and page 5 after the match had finished. Oh Amy why?

Well have a great day everyone and here’s to a few shocks in this weekends FA Cup fixtures.
