Arsenal News 15 March 2012

March 15, 2012

Happy days Gooners… Well I took another day off from the blog yesterday. Monday night was brilliant and having watched the match again I think 4-1 would have been a fairly result. Interesting how things have changed and not just the team. The supporters seem to have rallied round and are much more positive right now. The stadium atmosphere in the last few games has been much better and though I have not been to Milan and Newcastle, sitting here at home the crowd noise really comes across and fair play to the supporters. The Emirates is not library with the crowd in this mood.

I also think with Sagna at the back, this allows Theo more license to roam and he feels comfortable with Sagna behind him. Gibbs on the other, that while still a bit raw defending, Gibbs does give us better options coming forward.  Arsenal look a much more settled side right now. Nice that Santos is back and he played 60 mins for the stiffs last night in their win against WBA.

Tuesday had the usual rubbish regarding the RVP/Krulgate, which was a spat that Krul started and could not take it when RVP gave some back.

Arsenal are flying off the land of the rising Sun in July and will play Kitchen FC  a game that could come to the boil and certainly earn the club some serious Wonga. This after playing the World’s biggest Club Man City in China.

On this weeks behind the numbers is all about how we get on certain days of the week. One thing that has always puzzled me is Saturday night kick offs. Apparently since 2006/2007 season we have played 38 late Saturday kick offs and only 8 have been at home. Why do we always get picked to play away?

Chelsea beat Napoli 4-1 to go through on 5-4 on agg. I prefer this option as it gives them more games and they are never going to win it with that team.

Also if they do win it, then whoever finishes 4th might not be in next years Champions league and that would be seriously funny if Spurs finished 4th, yet not so if we did.

The Telegraph have an article on who the managers in the Premier League think are best. Here First up they have chosen Spurs as the most attacking and exciting team in the Premiership. Well on the last three performances I tend to agree, they have been making me laugh. 75% that 15 managers agreed with this. Swansea’s Brendan Rogers is the premierships top manager so far. Robin Van Persie got the vote as the best forward 25% voted for him….. Yes!!!! I did say 25%, which begs the question what are 15 managers in the league looking at each week.

Article in The Independent about Robin Van Persie playing like a man who wants to stay at Arsenal Here Personally I don’t think he will leave. He is not Cesc or Nasri. Arsenal also reckon RVP will stay.

I agree 100% with you about the team looking so much more settled with Sagna & Gibbs at the back, it gives the likes of Theo and the Ox the chance to push forward knowing that they wont have to track back so much if they do lose the ball. It does beg the question though where would we be if this back four played all season? Oh if only!!!
TR7 to has impressed me so much over the last month, especially on Monday, he was like a man possessed, I want a pint of what ever Le Boss has been feeding him!!!
A Newcastle supporting lad who works with me and went to Mondays game sitting in block 106 near the back thought that young Theo had a mare on Monday, his wasnt the only comment i heard that was similar, listening to the pod cast of the fans forum on Tuesday a few people said the same thing, could it be the view from some seats at the Emirates gives a false impression of how the fans see some players?
Any way keep up the good work.
