Arsenal News 10 March 2012

March 10, 2012

Mid-day Gooners.Firstly apologies for a no-show yesterday. Busy day and even I sometimes need a day away from the Arsenal 😉

Have to give a mention Atletico Bilbao who beat United 3-2. Always happy to United lose, but what a game it was. Both teams going for it and some of the football Bilbao played was Barca like. Looking forward to return in Spain.

Just been to Ware to watch my Son play football, these 10am kicks off, killing any lay-in that Saturday used to offer up, but still he’s my Son. They won 1-0 and kept their first clean sheet of season…

Pretty boring weekend on the football front coming up as we do not play until Monday night. What is it with TV? Newcastle changed and now Wigan, why? What so bloody special that Arsenal v Wigan have to be LIVE on TV. One might wonder that now we are looking to be catching Spurs, overtaken Chelsea and 3rd spot looking good, that by putting the game back and letting the other teams play first might heap further pressure on us. I do so love a conspiracy theory 🙂

Everton take on Spurs at Goddison in 5.30 Saturday kick off… Coooooooooooooooooome oooooooooooon Yooooooooooou Tooooooooooffees!!!!!

News : At yesterdays Arsene Presser when asked about Podolski, Arsene answered in true Arsene and Arsenal party line that no deal had been done, but I think the wry smile gave the game away. AW also mentioned RVP is not for sale and even if we have to hold onto him for next season RVP will not be leaving. Thought I doubt that will make any difference to the meedja who when they have a few blank Column  inches, they will need a RVP story to fill those inches.

Not sure why many Gooners think Podolski is coming to replace RVP. I think Podolski is coming to make sure we KEEP RVP. It always amazes me how fans can sink to seeing only the bad things that might happen to their club. Arsenal are a bloody good team and injuries have played a MASSIVE part in our form this season. Now this is NOT an excuse at all, just that injuries do have an effect over a season. I would say, just how many players do you have on your books when almost ALL your full backs are injured, or Centre Backs. Arsenal seem to collect injuries in batches to each part of the team, rather than the odd one here and there over the whole side. You cannot have five Top-Class player to cover every position.

The Daily mail is running a story that Jens (the mad man) Lehmann could be returning to the club as goal keeping coach. WOW the BFG, Podolksi and Mad Jens, Arsenal fans will be Goose Stepping to the Emirates next season 🙂

Cecs Fabregas article in Guardian is worth a read “Cesc Fábregas: ‘Wenger will bring Arsenal back to where they belong'”

Injury news is that Arteta and Ramsey are back and Santos has cut down on his pork life and could feature. No injuries were picked up from the Milan games, so save long-term ones to the BFG, The guy with the afro and beard and Jack (who it must be said could be back soon) the injury list is shortening. We must be due a few injuries Monday then.

Happy days

Stay safe out there.
