Arsenal News 8 March 2012

March 8, 2012

Morning Gooners… Well Spurs struggled to get past Stevenage the day after we took Milan to the cleaners, but failed to progress in Champions League. Spurs picked up a couple of injuries, Lennon and Dawson (who is out for season) and once again “TV replays showed Gareth Bale missed his kick and instead volleyed Mark Roberts’ foot before tumbling” seems if your names Bale you con as much as you want. Spurs running out of their early to mid-season luck?

Lionel Messi bags five goals for Barca in one game to create a bit of UEFA Champions League history. It really was worth watching on TV last night, what an amazing footballer. Anyone who watched the show about him on ITV2 later would see what a great bloke he is too.

Rumours started flooding in on Twitter last night, first with news that the German construction daily paper Bild that Podolski is signing for Arsenal, about £10m and £100k a week, good work if you can get it. The BFG was also metioning the transfer.Later some of our newspapers picked up on the story and started to run with it. This one does have a bit more teeth to it than the usual rumours, but I’ll still wait till Podolski is an wearing an Arsenal shirt on I go to bed with this rumour. I wake up and what do I see, the English media have put 2+2 together and come up with 1,361.957 and the news is all about Mancini, “Get me RVP” nice link there to fill the back sheets and create headlines.

This notwithstanding that Mancini also thinks RVP will stay at Arsenal. I think RVP is more DB10 and will show loyalty the club that others haven’t just like DB10 did, maybe it’s a Dutch thing. Arsenal are buying Podolski to keep RVP not lose him

Also a little bit about Juventus want Alex Song. My first thanks go to @andygoon63 who tweeted this morning…

“If Juventus sign song I’m popping the shampoo corks…I do anything not to see that useless twat in our midfield giving the ball away nonstop”

Just as Gooners were getting hopes up going on bed, the media look to take it away the following morning. Pattern in place.

I see UEFA in their wisdom have decided to charge Arsene Wenger with regards to comments he made about the ref Skomina in out match v Milan. I thought he spoke the truth but apparently not to UEFA. One wonders why the ref makes comments such as

“It was a very important game. “In our preparations, we considered a lot of different game scenarios and one was exactly as it happened in the first half — that Arsenal would go for it ‘all or nothing’ by putting maximum pressure on Milan’s players and trying to disrupt their game. It almost worked.”

Strange things for ref to be saying.

Right that’s me off, have a great day and remember
